The field of Special Education is one of the most promising and rewarding career opportunities. With a combination of exceptional resources and learning experiences, our graduate program will equip you with the knowledge, tools, and confidence you need to succeed in your field.
The Master’s Degree in Special Education is an Alternative Teacher Certification Program in conjunction with Daemen College. This program offers two options: Childhood Special Education track (Grades 1-6) and Early Childhood Special Education track (Birth-Grade 2). Upon completion of the program, you will easily be able to obtain certification in the second track, allowing you to be certified in both Early Childhood and Childhood Education. In addition, TTI offers advisement on obtaining Adolescent (Grades 7-12) Certification as well. One of the advantages of our alternative certification program is that you will have the benefit of applying for Transitional B Certification upon completion of the second cycle of the program. This temporary certification will enable you to take part in many lucrative job opportunities while you are still working towards your degree completion.
Upon successful completion of the Master’s Program, you will be recommended for NY State Teacher Certification in both Special Education and General Education.
Graduates of the Master’s Program in Special Education have made their mark as Classroom Teachers and Assistants, P3 Providers, SEIT Instructors, Early Intervention Instructors, Headstart Teachers, Pre-K Teachers, Resource Room Teachers, and Inclusion Class Teachers.
