Interior Design is an exciting field, with multifaceted opportunities in both the business and private sectors serving clients who seek skilled help in making the best use of their space. You’ll work with contractors, architects, kitchen and bath designers, and home and business owners, whether as part of a team or freelancing on your own.
A well-rounded education involves an understanding of the many factors that come into play, such as architecture, plumbing, and lighting. With TTI Careers, students receive 222 hours of face-to-face instruction by licensed teachers. The curriculum focuses on comprehensive residential and light commercial projects, and covers the basic drawing and drafting skills needed. You’ll learn about topics like space planning and visual balance, as well as essential computer design such as AutoCAD and SketchUp Pro. You’ll learn subjects like design theory, the design process, business management and professional practice.
At the end of this intensive course, you will develop your own professional portfolio to showcase your design and technical skills through assigned projects. You’ll also be trained to interact professionally with clients and employers. By the time you’re through, you’ll be able to enter the workforce with poise and confidence, ready to work your magic on interiors everywhere.
Teacher-student interaction is expected and required. Classes are recorded for your convenience.
Students will be able to meet privately with teachers on a weekly basis for review.
With TTI Careers Interior Design course, you have the option of earning up to 15 college credits towards a degree. A bachelor’s degree makes you a more appealing hire for prospective employers.

Tuition is payable in two installments, due on the first day of each semester. Does not include laptop, software and course materials. $100 registration fee applies.
High School Diploma or GED*
*If you don’t have a high school diploma, you may take an “Ability-to-Benefit” test at a TTI testing center. Please mention this to Admissions staff upon registration so that we may make arrangements for the test within the necessary time frame.
TTI Careers programs are approved by the New Jersey Department of Education.
Students who take the Interior Design course will have the opportunity to take College Level Exams through Coopersmith Career Consulting to earn college credits.
Interior designers work in a range of areas, including construction firms and design agencies as residential or commercial space planners, AutoCAD technicians, sales/showroom consultants or a kitchen and bath planners. They can begin working at an average starting salary of $22-23 per hour. Depending on the quality of their work and networking ability, a talented, motivated designer can earn over $100,000, especially when freelancing and opening her own business. Designers can find stable work within larger firms or as private residential planners.
