The Advanced Audio Engineering program is a project-based curriculum utilizing the software Pro Tools to learn how to record, edit, mix, and output the finished session. The Basic Audio Engineer program is a prerequisite to the Advanced program.
This course builds on the foundational skills and understanding students have gained with Pro Tools. Students demonstrate the ability to confidently operate industry standard equipment, advanced methods, complex workflows and processes within a multitrack mix. Via practical exercises, students gain the tools to capture a live performance, then mix and master it on a professional level using industry standard best practices and meeting all required specifications for delivery. At completion of this course, each student will leave with a completed and unique 16 track mix and master.
Audio engineers can find employment with musicians and production companies, as part of their in-house audio team, creating mp3 files and supplying audio soundtracks. Many audio engineers work freelance on behalf of schools, camps and individuals.
