A BCBA evaluates a child to determine what would be causing him or her to behave in an inappropriate manner. With the source of the trouble identified, the BCBA implements environmental modifications and uses behavioral stimuli and consequences, to produce socially significant improvement in human behavior. A BCBA evaluates a child using direct observation, measurement, and functional analysis of the relationship between environment and behavior. This job is ideal for someone looking to advance his or her career, and enjoys analyzing and determining the source of a behavior. Typically, BCBA’s are employed in school districts, clinics, hospitals, group homes, and agencies that serve individuals with autism spectrum and related disorders.

Program Structure

This is a fully online program, with weekly videos and reading that students will be required to complete. Quizzes will be given weekly, in addition to a midterm and final exams. There will be six semesters, with an accumulation of 18 credits.

Prior Requirements

Students must hold a Bachelor level degree, and must have completed or be near completion of a Master’s degree in Education, Psychology, or Behavior Analysis from an accredited college or university. A student may be a resident from anywhere, except New York state.  

Field Work

There is a 1,500 hour supervised independent fieldwork requirement. TTI will assist students in obtaining this position, but ultimately is not responsible to ensure it.

Schedule

The BCBA program takes about a year to complete, and begins October 29, 2017. The semesters takes work schedules and Yomim Tovim into account.

Location

The program is done fully online.

Cost

The total cost of the program is $8,000. There is no financial aid available at this time.
